Before I headed for the Hollywood Hills, I was invited for a weekend at The Grove – London’s County estate with Volvo for a weekend of ‘Lagom’ living.

If you’re not familiar with Lagom, it is a lifestyle adopted by Swedes and essential means all good things in moderation – not too little, not too much. Lagom is usually adopted by groups of people, so Volvo split us into three groups; Cuisine, Fashion and Fitness. I was assigned the cuisine trail, which included baking cinnamon buns with Swedish cookery writer and owner of Scandi Kitchen, Brontë Aurell, a FIKA picnic at in the picturesque College Lake Nature Reserve and an Aquavit mixology masterclass hosted by Jon Anders Fjeldsrud.

The evening had in store a Swedish banquet complete with meatballs and gravy! and then the next day it was time to explore The Grove grounds and the luxury country house spa, as well as a champagne breakfast – well, they did say all good things in moderation!

Thank you to Volvo and Frank PR for hosting the weekend and giving me the opportunity to test drive the new Volvo  XC40 SUV.
