How to Dress this Valentine’s Day*

That one special day of the year, where we get to spoil our other halves is fast approaching and I imagine you’ve booked the restaurant, ordered the flowers and picked out the most appropriate card in Paperchase. But have you thought about the what to wear on the big night yet?

Well, look no further, as I give you the ultimate how to dress guide for this Valentine’s day. Inspired by the romance of Kraken Rum’s #Rumantics campaign (more details below).

Be Sophisticated

Sophistication never goes out of style. I’m not saying wear a full-on tux, but you can’t go wrong with a skinny/slim fit blazer paired with a well-cut crisp white,  mallow pink or baby blue shirt.

Opt for skinny black jeans or chinos for the perfect silhouette and keep the shoes black or brown in a classic brogue, Oxford or loafer style.

For that perfect finishing touch, add a pocket square to give that touch of sophistication.

Don’t be afraid to unleash your wild side

If smart and gentry just isn’t for you and you’re a bit more rock’n’roll, that’s ok – just do it well! A lot of high street stores now offer casual shirts made of luxury materials such as viscose and sateen so I would suggest opting for one of these to impress your valentines date.

The LBO

The LBO (Little Black Outfit) is as much as a gift to men, as the LBD is to women. You can’t go wrong with it and it looks good on everyone.  But how do I wear black without if looking boring or like I’m a waiter, I hear you cry… Well, it’s all in quality cuts and textured materials. Furthermore, it’s the colour of seduction!
